What could be my anchor for feeling my power?
Sometimes, after a fight with a partner, or a confrontation with a boss, or just a loss of sleep, we lose our authentic energy, strength and power. That’s when an anchor can help us regain our vital life-affirming energy.
Remember a moment you felt powerful, and breathe into that feeling. Then imagine something that symbolizes that feeling- an anchor.
It can be a visual anchor, like a colour, or an inner picture/ an auditory anchor, like a word, an affirmation, or a mantra/ or a physical anchor like a gesture, a symbol like a small figure or a stone.
What could be your anchor for a moment of bliss?
To use an anchor successfully we need to practise. Take some moments a day in a safe environment to remind yourself of your anchor (your special gesture, movement, words…) and the good powerful feeling that goes with it. Use your breathing to embody your experiences. Take care that your anchor is not too exaggerated, so you can use it whenever you need it without concern of what others might think.
If you keep on practising and then use your anchor in difficult moments you support yourself. It takes time to practise, but you will see- its a little bit of magic.
